What I learned: In this assignment, I learned how to properly analyze research studies. I learned what to look for in a study and how to properly summarize a study. I got the chance to look at a variety of studies and determine the effectiveness of each study as it relates to the general population.
Reflection to the assignment: This assignment showed me how to be an up-to-date dietitian. There are many studies that are published on a daily basis and as a dietitian, it is important for me to remain up to date with these studies. Since there are multiple studies daily, it is crucial to be able to read through studies and know what exactly to look for.
Relevance to the profession: As a dietitian, we will always see new trends emerge in the health field and it is important for us to understand these trends and how they can affect the human body. The only way to check to see if something works is by trial and error and this is how research works. It is important to be able to know how to properly read research and transmit these results to the general population.
